This stage follows in the footsteps of the famous KitzAlpBike Marathon and has everything mountain bikers could wish for: crisp climbs, dreamy sections over alpine landscapes and seemingly endless trails.
But don't worry: the second stage is also available in an easy and a medium-difficult version!
For all variants, the route initially leads from Brixen over the Brixenbachgraben (210) up to the
Wiegalm (1,525 m). Here is the highest point of the saddle before it, past the
Harlassanger Alm (257),
to the start of the easy-to-drive
Wiegalmtrails (277), which goes down into the valley to the Aschauer cycle path.
Redirection autumn 2021 - from September 24th, 2021 (green line on the map):
At the Gasthof Skirast you cross the Aschauer Landstrasse and note the fork in the road for the Aschauer Höhenweg No. 285. After a few meters the road forks and you turn right, so you are on the Aschauer Höhenweg in the direction of Gauxer Stadl and Hieslegg Lift. From now on, the route meanders quickly upwards until you have reached the Hieslegg See on the ridge. We continue to Pengelstein and Ehrenbachhöhe (route no. 232).The path to the right leads to the
Hahnenkammbahn mountain station. Shortly before it goes right on an alpine road (232) downhill over the hermitage, past the Hahnenkammbahn valley station, into the town of
Kitzbühel and on to the
Schwarzsee.
It then continues through the Schwarzsee campsite to the bike / hiking path, then left and right, past the northern shore of the Schwarzsee and on to Gasthof Steuerberg, on the bike path (280) it then goes to the Oberndorf district of Schmiedboden and on the road to the stage destination in
Oberndorf i. T.
