The last stage of the KAT Bike E-njoy awaits you with culinary stops, dreamlike views and scenically impressive trail passages!
Enjoy the view of the imposing Wilder Kaiser and the impressive Loferer Steinberge or cycle through the different villages and make stops at farm shops, schnapps distilleries or countless beautiful vantage points. This stage first takes you through the wide valley floor of the St. Johann in Tirol region and then through the idyllic PillerseeTal. A truly crowning conclusion to your KAT Bike E-njoy Tour!
The last KAT Bike E-njoy stage starts in Oberndorf in Tyrol in the hamlet of Wiesenschwang. This idyllic village is characterised by a large number of active farms. The farm shops of Schörgerer, Müllnerbauern and Schneiderbauern offer a delicious selection of regional products. You can also admire the world's largest wooden trough at the Müllnerbauern.
The tour then leads through the well-kept centre of Oberndorf via Rerobichlstraße to Bichlach. On the way there, you pass the mountain chapel dedicated to St. Nepomuk - incidentally, it is the wedding chapel of Herbert von Karajan. Further on, you pass beautifully situated farms perched like observers on the hilltops. There are often wonderful views of the Kitzbüheler Horn and the Wilder Kaiser.
Once back in the valley, the cycle path leads you along the road for a bit to get onto the cycle path into the centre of Going. The "TV - Mountain Doctor Dr. Martin Gruber" made this town on the Wilder Kaiser famous far and wide. Directly at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser, the tour continues along the Prama towards St. Johann in Tirol. Beautiful houses, farms and feeding stables lie directly along the cycle path. Once you arrive at the Römerhof, you can take a first rest. Afterwards, through a forest, you reach the next farm hamlet, which lies directly on the steep walls of the Niederkaiserkamm. Another pit stop is possible at the Rummlerhof inn. The Rummlerhof inn is a hereditary farm and the oldest inn in St. Johann in Tyrol. The KAT Bike then continues to the Meickl carpentry. Here you have to keep sharp left so as not to miss the entrance from the cycle path. Once you reach the road, it is only a few metres to the next rest stop along the route: "Aggstein Edelbrände" or you can take a small diversions and visit the baroque centre of the market town of St. Johann in Tyrol.
Afterwards, the trail continues along the Großache (the largest river in the Kitzbühel district). You cycle leisurely until you reach the turn-off towards "Habach". At Oberhabachhof you can enjoy delicious ice cream specialities at the "Eiswiese" and fortify yourself for the later climb to the Kalksteinalmen. First, however, you cycle along an asphalt mountain road for a while until you reach a forest road at the beautifully situated farm "Oberstegen". The MTB trail winds its way through the forest up to the plateau at Kalkstein. After arriving in the alpine pasture area, you will reach a game gate after a few metres. The KAT Bike Genusstour leads through this game enclosure (please always close the gates!). Past the Grödingalm, the tour continues to the Angerlalm and Huberalm. Both huts are managed and offer fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. The view from the limestone is indescribable - Wilder Kaiser, Kitzbüheler Horn, Loferer Steinberge, the Waidringer Steinplatte ... a rocky giant greets you at every turn.
The bike tour then leads back down into the valley via MTB route 266. At the end of the forest road, you reach cycle route 18 "Kalksteinrunde" to Waidring.
On the way towards Waidring, there is the opportunity to make a short stop at the Seibl gourmet shop. Vinegar, oils, cheese, bacon, schnapps and other regional products can be bought here or tasted on the spot. Continue towards the centre of the village, where it is worth making a detour to the Glockenwelt Waidring at the Steinplatte cable car car park. The Bell World is an interactive exhibition - from bell casting to stories about the Waidring church bell, many exciting topics find a place here. Afterwards, you drive leisurely through the village centre until you turn right onto Pillerseestraße towards St. Ulrich am Pillersee. After just a few kilometres, you have the option of turning right again and leaving the main road in the direction of the Weißbachschlucht gorge. The 200 metres of ascent along the stream are not difficult, especially if you take a break at one of the rest areas or cool your calves in the Kneipp facility on hot summer days. At the Rechsau Chapel you can admire the imposing Loferer Steinberge mountains.
From here, the trail descends to Adolari, directly to the pilgrimage church of St. Adolari and the Adolari Inn. A stop at the rustic inn and a visit to the chapel are definitely worthwhile! Continue downhill along the main road until you reach the Teufelsklamm car park. Turn right here in the direction of Pillersee.
On a beautiful cycle path you now cycle leisurely along the Pillersee lake to St. Ulrich am Pillersee. Always along the Grieslbach stream and with the Jakobskreuz in view, you cross the village street in St. Ulrich a. P. and continue leisurely in the direction of St. Jakob i. H.. H.. At the Strasserwirt inn, cross the road again to stay on the cycle path.
Now the route goes through the district of Schwendt, slightly uphill, to the idyllically situated Wiesensee lake. The Wiesensee with its Kneipp facility invites you to take a break before continuing towards Hochfilzen. In the Warming district, turn right between the Glaa and Hörl farms to join cycle route 17 "Buchensteinwandrundweg" towards Fieberbrunn. Here you cycle comfortably parallel to the railway line, past beautiful farms. Always in view of the wonderful mountain landscape of the PillerseeTal all the way to the Wilder Kaiser. When you reach the Schönau district of Fieberbrunn, you are already very close to your destination. From here on it is all downhill towards the centre of the village, which you reach after crossing the main road at the Horngacher butcher's shop. The destination of this stage and of the KAT bike - the Hotel Alte Post - is in Dorfstraße, opposite the Sparkasse bank.
