Tour information

Lake Achensee is the largest lake in Tyrol, Lake Tegernsee one of the most famous film locations in Bavaria - Lake Schliersee and also Lake Thiersee invite you to take a cosy break on the shore.

Starting point: Wörgl parish church, 513m
Route: from Wörgl via Kundl and Kramsach to Münster. Drive up along the main road and the Kanzelkehre to the Achensee (pleasant gradient, well under 10%). Passing Tyrol's largest lake, you cycle over the Achenpass, 941m, to Tegernsee, which lies idyllically in the Bavarian Mangfall Mountains. (Information on the Tegernsee: The Tegernsee is of particular importance for securing the drinking water supply of the state capital Munich) Before reaching Gmund, follow the road to Schliersee and on via Neuhaus to Bayrischzell. Return across the state border to Thiersee, above which the "Kufsteinerhaus" towers imposingly high on the Pendling. Descent to Kufstein and return via Langkampfen and the Inn cycle path to Wörgl.
