Tour information

We start in the village square of Itter and walk in the direction of Stefan’s Dorfladl. Then we turn left at the rose sign-post and continue along the backstreet. Always following the signposts, we reach the first highlight after a few minutes: the viewing platform from where we can see Itter Castle. On we go along the edge of the forest until we get to a bench. We turn left there and follow the narrow path into the wood. As soon as the path reaches the forest road we keep to the left and walk uphill to the hamlet Itterer Dörfl where we can admire several traditional farmhouses and cast a glance into the lovely cottage gardens. The signpost leads us on to the waterlily pond and the knight’s realm playground, rITTERspielplatz. There we learn in a playful way all sorts of interesting things about the village and Itter Castle. Cosy benches and wooden loungers invite us to pause.
