Scenically amazing presents itself this cycling tour to the Tyrolean Wildschönau high valley with a detour to the alpine inn Schönanger and return ride via Grafenweg to Hopfgarten and final mountains classification to the sunny plateau of Itter. Start in Wörgl and take Wildschönau road to the same-named high valley. In few, pleasant bends the road winds uphill and leads via Hennersberg to Niederau. From here follow the road to Oberau. Pass Spar supermarket and the petrol station keep on straight ahead. After a short downhill ride you get to Mühltal. Turn left at the crossing (Wildschönau slow train) and go on towards Auffach, past the Holzmuseum (museum of wood) until the end of the valley where you find the alpine inn Schönanger (1173m). After a strengthening break there take the same way back to Auffach, Mühltal and Oberau until Niederau. Keep to the right there and follow the signposting to Hopfgarten, Grafenweg. Along Grafenweg road and a long downhill ride with amazing views of the Brixental valley you get to Hopfgarten. Pass the tourist information office, the banks and the pharmacy and go on until the inn Tirolerhof. Now follow the road on the right uphill to Itter (2km incline). Go past the village square of Itter and follow the state road downhill to the federal road. Turn left and go towards Bruckhäusl where a railway underpass on the left takes you to the Brixental state road and consequently back to Wörgl. There are numerous inns and restaurants in Wörgl, Wildschönau and Hopfgarten to stop off at.
