Since two decades, the Tyrolean provincial government has been awarding the Tyrolean cross-country trail seal of quality to applying operators of cross-country ski trails under certain conditions.
The cross-country ski trail areas must have a specified minimum configuration of ski trails and show a correspondingly good standard regarding preparation, orientation, marking and securing of hazardous spots.

Quality requirements for the Tirol cross-country trail seal of quality
Furthermore, the start and finish areas must be marked and provided with relevant facilities and notices. Cross-country ski trail locations which can be expected to receive daily visitors must have well-arranged parking facilities in suitable vicinity to the start and finish area, the size of which corresponds to the extent of the range of cross-country ski trails.
The cross-country ski trail area must cover at least 3 cross-country ski trails. The trails must be set up independently of each other and have dual tracks. The trails must only run next to each other over short sections. The cross-country trail stamp of quality can only be awarded to cross-country skiing areas which can expect at least 80 days of snow (days with a snow blanket of approx. 10 cm) during a winter season.
