Chamber Music Festival - THE classic music festival in the Alps
The Hopfgarten Chamber Music Festival takes place from 23 August - 1 September 2018
What makes the Chamber Music Festival Hopfgarten so special?
No fix ensembles, no concert routine – the repertoire of the respective concerts is elaborated by the musicians on the spot in Hopfgarten to be afterwards presented to the audience in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The Chamber Music Festival with all its participating artists offers musical enjoyment on the highest level and of best quality.
A journey through European chamber music. Great composers. Magnificent works.
Year by year, an attractive programme comprising works of Baroque music to contemporary compositions of highest musical quality. Is being worked out by the artistic director of the Chamber Music Festival, the cellist Ramon Jaffé, and his musicians. The pillars of the festival week are the chamber music concerts. Apart from the festive opening concert (25 August) at the parish church of Hopfgarten two more concert evenings are scheduled for 28 and 31 August at the Salvena. The final concert and closing event is still in process of planning. Further information concerning the programme can be found on www.kammermusikfest.com
Walks, mountains, nature by day – musical delights at the highest stage by night. A combination which makes a holiday during the Chamber Music Festival a sensual, one-of-a-kind experience for lovers of nature and music.
No fix ensembles, no concert routine – the repertoire is worked out and practiced by the musicians together in Hopfgarten – a summerly relaxed but intensive “working week” in a friendly atmosphere where top quality is of utmost importance. In recent years talented young musicians have put their marks on the festival just like popular names have done. Artists such as Benjamin Schmid, Vladimir and Dimitri Ashkenazy, Angelika Kirchschlager, Wenzel Fuchs, Christian Muthspiel, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Ariane Hearing, Stephan Picard, Andres Mustonen and many more have performed here and stand for the artistic quality of the Hopfgarten Chamber Music Festival.
