If this isn't just the perfect tour for the whole family - it combines the Alpine feeling of altitude with fast trails, which are also possible for the younger family members who may not have much experience. The first 500 metres of the ascent to Hochbrixen are easily tackled with the assistance of the gondola. This eliminates the arduous climb up the Sonnberg mountain.
You begin then from Hochbrixen at the mountain station, where the first descent to Berggasthof Nieding awaits. Here you can take a short break with the best view. Strengthened, you are ready for a two-kilometre climb with 200 metres of altitude difference. A short stretch on asphalt and then later, on gravel through woods and open spaces, on the Gsengweg which again and again offers fantastic views of the entire Brixen Valley. If the going gets tough, just push and save your energy for the following trail. It will be worth it - the Sun Trail is a flow trail like any other and will put a big smile on your face and those of your kids.
Back in Brixen there are many options. How about a family excursion to the large leisure complex with adventure swimming pool and bathing lake? Or a few laps at the skill park at the SkiWelt gondola’s valley station with its new pump track. Or simply take the gondola up again - you can't get enough of biking here anyway.
