Tour information

We start this moderately difficult tour at the tourist information office in Westendorf.
Heading towards Windautal, we take the path on the right at the Waldhof Chapel downhill to Hopfgarten. From Hopfgarten, a slightly ascending road leads us to Kelchsau, from where we climb up to Haagalm on the right. From here the actual climb starts, but for the time being still on an asphalt path. With a medium gradient and after about 1/3 of the ascent, we then have a good gravel path under our wheels. Sooner or later we reach the Höhenbrandalm, mostly in the shade of the forest. Soon we catch sight of the Haagalm at 1350 m above sea level. From here you can even see the western foothills of the Wilder Kaiser behind the Hohe Salve. A partly rapid descent over the Penningberg brings us back to Hopfgarten. We return to Westendorf the same way we came, past the Lendwirt inn.
