Bike Tour Tiefentalalm - Langer Grund Kelchsau

This moderate tour begins at the tourist information office in Westendorf from where we take the Brixental Cycle Route No. 21 in the direction of the Windau.  Keeping to the right at the Waldkapelle (chapel), follow the road to the Lendwirt Inn.  From this point we cycle out of the valley to Hopfgarten from where the road remains flat or with a slight incline to the village of Kelchsau.  Soon after cycling through Kelchsau, we arrive at a toll booth (for cars) after which the route takes us to the right to the “Langer Grund”.   After a few kilometres, moderately uphill, we pass the Alpine restaurant “Moderstock”.  Continuing along the banks of the Kelchsau Ache (river) in a wonderful, natural atmosphere, we cycle to the “Tiefentalalm”.  It is only the last short stretch that’s a bit steep, otherwise this tour is ideal for a sporty family excursion. Nothing stands in our way now for the long downhill trip, returning on the same route to our original departure point.
