Lecture on the Project:
Country Highpoints – Climbing the Highest Peaks of 197 Countries
Wednesday, October 1, 2025
Doors open: 6:00 p.m.
Start: 6:30 p.m.
Andreas Aschaber from Kirchberg is a passionate mountaineer. From an early age, he was fascinated by the mountains of his homeland and gradually acquired the alpine skills, planning abilities, and technical expertise needed for mountaineering. In parallel, he completed degrees in Economics as well as Environmental Engineering and Environmental Management.
This unique combination, along with his unwavering determination, led to a dream: to one day stand on the highest mountain of every country on Earth — all 197 of them. His journeys have taken him to challenging peaks in politically unstable regions, military zones, as well as to breathtaking rock faces, remote jungles, and vast steppes that continue to inspire him. Today, he is well on his way to becoming the first person ever to travel to all 197 countries and reach their respective highest points. So far, he has climbed 131 out of 197.
In this approximately 90-minute lecture, Andreas returns to his hometown to share with the audience the breathtaking beauty of our planet from firsthand experience. Don’t miss this moving presentation under the inspiring motto: “Paths are made by walking them.”
Admission: Voluntary donations
The lecture is also suitable for students and young people.
